A Deal Gone South
Session 16

-Han and Chewie give the group a set of Ardos Disks and their contact information.
-Jace shops for some weapons and goods while Tim tries to convince the non-Wookiee refugees to join the rebellion. They are not keen on the idea but are willing to follow along for now.
-Chewan realizes that the fuel cells in the GR-75 transport are dangerously low. He comms out to Jace to pick up some fuel.
-Meanwhile, Chewan is out repairing the landing gear on the Chimera when he notices people approaching. He quickly hides himself and sees two Gank hunters. They call out to the PCs, beckoning them forth.
-Tim emerges from the tranport. Tim recognizes them as Thann’s bodyguards. The lead Gank says, “We can do this the easy way or the hard way. Give us the slaves and we’ll give you a head start before we kill you. Or, we kill you now and take the slaves anyway.” Chewan has revealed himself at this point and tries to get on the ship to warn the others, but the Ganks really mean business. The four of them stare each other down for a moment. Then, Tim shouts with gusto, “The hard way then!” His gun is already drawn.

The Kessel Run
Session 15

A Lambda shuttle is quickly approaching the surface of Kessel. Aayla’Ani heads to the GR-75 transport and fires up the engine. She hears a familiar voice calling to her … Her mother and father are among the liberated slaves! Feeling of bitterness flood to the surface. Aayla’Ani knows that there is a job at hand and refuses to let this reunion get in the way. Koth and Tim quickly follow behind while Jace and Chewaan jump into the Chimera and blast of the surface of the planet.

Han leads the charge through the ensuing battle. A massive Imperial Star Destroyer is drifting toward the surface of Kessel, it’s power systems offline, but quickly recharging. Aayla’Ani deftly maneuvers the transport around the Star Destroyer. Jace narrowly squeezes by scraping the edge of the Chimera on the Star Destroyer.

Squadrons of Tie Fighters race towards the escaping ships. Aayla’Ani quickly hails the Star Destroyer and convinces them that her ship is neutral and merely trying to stay out of the battle. With the ruse in place, she spins up the hyperdrive and jumps a safe distance away from the battle. Han and Chewie, not wanting to be left behind, get the heck out of there. Unfortunately, Jace and Chewan are having troubles with their hyperdrive. They manage to take down a few ties without taking more than a scratch. Suddenly, the Chimera’s alarms blare as the Star Destroyer locks on with it’s massive turbolasers. It’s now or never for the fleeing Chimera. With some luck (and maybe a little bit of the force), the Chimera barely makes the jump to hyperspace.

All three ships are now nestled on the edge of the Kessel Run. A cluster of black holes, known as the Maw, threaten to tear their ships apart. Han leads the group on a daring escape through the treacherous Kessel Run. Jace and Aayla’Ani are fine pilots, but they can’t match the skills of the infamous Han Solo. Their ships are buffeted and pulled away from the safest path by the strong pull of black holes. Chewan diverts energy from the engines to bolster the shields for the roughest part of the journey. Meanwhile, the crew and refugees on the GR-75 are facing challenges of their own ….

Koth rushes to and fro tending to the weak and malnourished refugees. He hears a female Wookiee scream and rushes to her side. She is very pregnant and on the verge of giving birth. Without missing a beat Koth prepares himself to deliver a Wookiee baby. He thinks he has done it before…then decides that it can’t be much different that delivering a Bothan child, right? Lights flicker on and off on the ship, causes panic and chaos in the hold. Tim raises his smooth, buttery voice and calms the masses of refugees. Almost as soon as he is done the engine sputters and dies. Something is wrong … Tim runs down into engineering to investigate. Something is clearly not right. He brings Aayla’Ani’s father down who has been working on mechanical equipment in the spice mines of Kessel for years. It’s clear that someone on board the ship has been trying to sabotage it. Tim takes two of the Wookiees and starts a search of the ship.

Aayla’Ani’s mother cannot bear another minute without talking to her daughter. Tim does nothing to stop her from going up to the bridge to have a word with her. Aayla’Ani doesn’t want to be disturbed on such a difficult mission, so her mom quietly sits behind her on the bridge. At this point all of the ships have managed to make it to the Pit, the final stretch of the Kessel Run. This region is littered with asteroids and high radiation. Comms are down and people are fainting left and right. Koth jumps to the occasion and tends to the needs of all those who are suffering from radiation poisoning. Soon, he successfully delivers a healthy Wookiee baby! He protects it from the deadly radiation with radiation wicking gel (or somesuch).

With comms down and unable to coordinate a path forward, Aayla’Ani decides to take matters into her own hands. She sees a narrow opening that the GR-75 may be able to squeeze through. Reckless as she is, she pulls the lumbering ship forward and manages to barely squeeze through the gap, only to be quickly enshrouded in a wall of asteroids. Jace not knowing the predicament they are in follows and now they are both trapped. Chewan warms up the turbolasers on the Chimera and blasts a hole through. -add more here, something about a space slug I cant remember -

Tim and Aayla’Ani are doing there best to navigate the asteroid field when they hear a scream from Aayla’s mother. Tim turns to look and sees an angry Trandoshan clutching Aayla’s mother by the throat. Tim reacts quickly blasting the Trandoshan in the should/face. He drops the woman who lies bleeding on the floor. Koth hears blaster fire from the hold and starts sprinting to the bridge. The trandoshan tries to through out a flash bang, but it is a dud. It bounces off the back of the pilots chair and slams into the door control closing the door. Tim gets a shot off, but misses. The blaster bolt knocks a crate down onto Aayla’s mother’s hand crushing it. The Trandoshan gets off a shot before being gunned down by Aayla who just can’t take it anymore. Koth arrives just in time to stop the poor woman from bleeding out.

Once clear of The Pit they make a jump to the backwater planet Formos where they take a minute to recuperate.

Dice for Spice
Session 14

As the team breaches the depths of the Kashyyyk each shivers as if to throw off the eerie darkness of the shadow lands. As the motionless body of D’Shar makes it to the village landing a roar pierces the air. Katahaar furiously pushes his way through those in his way. Blind to reason, froth spewing from his mouth Katahaar tries to reach D’Shar but is held back by Jase and Chewan. Tim steps forward to talk down Katahaar. With his best effort Katahaar slowly and reluctantly lets his rage slip from his grasp with a vow to take D’Shar’s life when this is all through.

As everyone gathers to head on this voyage the crew, knowing they plan on doing the kessel run inquires if Katahaar by chance knows of Chewbacca one of the legendary smulagers who made the kessel run in twelve parsecs. To their surprise and disbelief the response was in the affirmative. So as finishing getting everyone ready to board the ship Katahaar goes and sends off the message to see if they can get help. After getting into the all aboard the Chimera and off on their mission to rescue the captured wookies. Chewan barry himself in his work to manufacture faulty restraints for his brethren who are pretending to be captives to help rescue their friends. Word comes to the rest of the crew that D’Shar is waking. Tim and Jase head to the med center and meet Koth and despite their best efforts D’Shar remain alof and hesitant to accept the help of our motley crew. D’Shar demands to be left alone, but is gradual convinced that it would be in his best interest of have the doctor to help him out. Feeling relieved Jase and Tim leave the med bay glad they could leave Koth with their mark to keep an eye on him, despite their uneasiness in falling to convince D’Shar. They make a resolve to not let him out of their sights.

To prepare for their con the crew heads to a small backwater world of Formos, to pick up some last minute gear for their co-conspirators, as well as to see what if they did hear back from Chewbacca to see what help or advice he could give. Upon arriving at Formos the background radiation from being so near a Nebula and several black holes makes checking for any messages impossible.
So upon landing on Formos Tim, Jase, and Chewan head to the nearest cantina so as to get access to the halo net. While on the way Jase decides he needs a box. While keeping a look out on the way for his box. The group meanders over to this dive of a cantina. After passing through the entrance Chewan and Tim heads directly over to the nets terminal, Jase heads around to get a better look around to see what info he can pick up. Noticing a bounty board Jase makes his way over and takes a gander at the board to see if there are any jobs he can pick up on the way. Two jobs stand out of a some random space pirate for some 20,000 credits while the other stands out a little more firmly his mind. For a striking 40,000 credits Chewan picture looms at the top of the board. While thoughts run through his head of how to game the system and get his hands on those credits, Jase notices the bartender’s greedy demeanor. The bartender tries to nonchalantly point out the huge Wookiee perusing the halo net at the other end of the bar over his own transmission.
Jase quickly decides to warn his partners but as he heads their way two CSA guards barge into the cantina. Try to think quick Jase heads off the guards and greats them offer them help of what ever kind he can. What ever he can do to slow them down. The guards quickly become annoyed with this obvious ruffian cutting them at each step to get to their pray. With flagrant annoyance one of the guards moves to push get Jase out of there way. Anticipating the move Jase rolls his body as if he stumbles causing the guard to over reach and stumble, falling hitting his face into the bar striping him of his consciousness. In a moment the other guard hurries over to his companion checking to see if he is all right. As he kneels over his partner Jase slides up with a tone of concern in his voice trying asking what he can do to help. Boiling with anger the guard throws his elbow in to Jase’s face. Feeling the rush coming on Jase yells “Cantina fight!” and unleashes a push right at the back of the head of the guard who hit him as the Captain of the guard walks in. The Captain is immediately distracted by the ensuing brawl and can’t quite find Chewan in the mix of things.
A slow rolling voice breaks through the ruckus of the calling for decision from the blind following of the system, to push back on their oppressors. A clear note rings true to all of the ears in the cantina directing their ire toward the captain of the CSA. With a rush and in a fury the people of the cantina all pounce the CSA agent.
The CSA captain of the sees the crazy mess and explosion of anger and runs out the back. From the mixture and entanglement of bodies Chewan reaches in an attempt to snatches a cloak of some unbeknownst stranger only to drag him away and reveal a create which he uses to try and conceal his retreat back to the crews ship. With gleeful mirth Jase snatches a big sold looking box as the Trio dart through the rear exit.
As the team exits they find the captain cowering at their approach. When within a few they over hear the captain pleads that they let him live and he will not tell anyone that Chewan was there.
After the quick departure from the cantina Jase, Chewan, and Tim arrive at the ship and gather the rest of the team to hear the response from the infamous duo, Han Solo and Chewbacca. In the message Chewie informs the band that they happen to actually be near Formos and planning a raid at the spice mines as well. everyone is filled with surprise at this great turn of events for then not so much for this Admiral Ackbar of the Rebellion who is be transferred to the spice mines.
This makes the team realized that this is crunch time. This opportunity would be a prime distraction to help with there job. So sending out another message to inform the rebel agents of their plan and any assitance would be help and greatly appreciated as well.
Just before their jump they receive another message from Chewie that they will do what they can.

Exiting hyperspace above the spice mines. Everyone prepares for the mission during the descent. Informing D’Shar that they are on approach to the mines facilities. Soon after making the landing the D’Shar asks for a weapon. So in hopes to pacify this shifty dirt bag Jase hands him a lowly holdout blaster, but decides to shadow him. shortly after passing through the entrance to the spice mines the works their start trying to take the slaves, so trying to keep an eye out for them Tim decides to take them to the processing center with the rigged smuggling box full of blasters for the prisoners, under the premise that he will keep an eye on them till we get paid and that Jase is hoping to score some spice at the same time. Jase and Chewan head with D’Shar, who leads them to the administrator’s office. Where sitting at the desk is a small slimy puffy looking alien, who immediately begins to negotiate the price for the Wookiee slaves.
Arriving at an agreement the facility manager opens a vault which is based in the back corner of his office. As he heads in to retrieve his owed credits D’Shar abruptly starts to head out of the room. Jase feeling dread boil up in his bones asks D’Shar where he is off to. Claiming to be heading to the refresher, the assassin quickly states he has got to drain the snake as well and would be grateful to be able to follow him to where it is.

22. Tim accompanies the slavers with the 11 Wookiee slaves and has them break free and take out their guards at a good time.

23. D’Shar acts suspiciously, leaving Jase and Chewan with the administrator. Jase follows him to the refresher where D’Shar pulls a gun on him.

24. Chewan is ambushed in the admin’s office.

25. Chewan rushes the administrator who is in a closet like storage locker where he locks both of them in.

26. Chewan has a deadly encounter with a disruptor pistol

27. D’Shar runs to the elevator shaft that leads into the mines and calls them up. Jase and Tim are in pursuit.

28. Alarms start blaring in the facility. They are under attack by a group of rebels. Chewie has arrived and they are fighting overhead in the atmosphere.

29. All the slaves not in the mines are freed. Katahaar sees D’Shar and rushes to take him out. D’Shar falls unconscious.

30. Chewan is incapacitated by a disruptor pistol wielding Rybet (the administrator)

31. Jase fights his way through many guards and eventually takes out the administrator and gets Chewan back on his feet.

32. Chewie, Han, and some rebels land in the facility and clean up the remaining guards.

33. Katahaar and the other Wookiees don’t want to leave behind any of their people (half of them are still down in the mines). Tim convinces them that there is no time and gets them to leave.

34. More guards and the Empire are bearing down on them. Jase decides that he will pilot a GR-75 medium transport with all the freed slaves aboard and follow the Millenium Falcon through the treacherous Kessel run.

Journey in the Shadow Lands
Session 13

Soon after leaving the Kwenn Space Station the adventures start to hear an insane laughter coming from somewhere on the ship. While Aayla’Ani continues prepare the ship to try to bring the group to Kashyyyk, the rest of the crew go to investigate the strange noises coming from somewhere else on the ship. The crew eventually followed the sound to a hidden compartment on the newly christened Chimera. The intense laughter continues as the smuggling bay is opened to reveal a dank dark hold clustered with garbage. Reveling in the garbage is a brown, scaly monkey looking creature with one hell of a maniacal laugh. On opening the cargo bay Jase freaks out and yells for someone to shut up the monkey before he kills it. His only reason he is holding back is because he knows Aayla’Ani has be wanting one and brings it up any time she can. Chewan is soon called over to check out the blinking collar that is quickly discovered around the neck of the Lizard Monkey. Chewan quickly discovers that it is a tracking beacon, throwing the adventures in to high alert. As quickly as he can Chewan removes the tracker but to deactivate it before a ship drops in on them, sending them a hail requesting demanding they return to the space station and return the prized pet of one of the mighty Hutts. Upon further investigation and scans this does turn point out to the fact that it is a Hutt ship and that the Chimera is completely out gunned.

This makes most of the crew decide to head back to the station in order to quickly be done with this farce. Aayla’Ani flies the ship back to Kwenn station despite her desire to just make a run for it. Upon docking, the Hutt’s men are there to great them. As the crew gives over the lizard monkey a fumbling droid exits the opposing ship, and immediately begins to yell “It’s them it’s them. The ones that stole the master’s money.” Hearing this, Durga’s men begin to act aggressively. After seeing the Hutt’s henchmen begin to act Tim begins to threaten them, which escalates the situation. At this point other ship’s loading ramp seems to begin to shake as the hefty Hutt emerges from the bowls for his ship. For some reason the hot headed Jase thinks he can cool down the situation, and proceeded head to Durga to try to smooth things out. Despite his best efforts Jase’s lead tongue left them in a little hot water with Durga the Hutt. Durga demanded that the team owe him 50000 credits or to some land that is held by Broga the Hutt. As Durga and his people enter his ship he yells out that he will be in touch.

The gang heads back to their new ship wanting to quickly be on their way. As soon as the crew enters cockpit they plot a course to Kashyyyk to be on their way. For the few day trip Jase spent time with Chewan trying to pick up some new tricks to put up his sleeve. Koth has been working up some ways to sedate the agent of Thann Xiss. They all work on ways to stay entertained and prepare for the upcoming mission. In discussions with Katahaar it was determined that just he and Chewan should head to the village to inform the rest of Katahaar’s people the plans to free his people.

Upon arriving at Kashyyyk Katahaar leads the band to clearing where they can land their ship away form the village as to not spook them. Once landed Katahaar and Chewan head toward the village. The villagers all rejoice as they see Katahaar heading toward the them on one of the sky bridges that bind the tops of the trees together. Jase wanting to keep an eye on the pair of Wookiees, headed to a cliff over looking the Wookiee village. From there Jase was able to witness the news delivered to Katahaar, and the ensuing roar of anguish as he learned of his brother’s death. Chewan seeing the rage building in Katahaar steers the conversation back to the mission at hand. Upon informing the village of the plan the group has to rescue their lost tribes men they are overjoyed and gracious for the help. They readily welcome the help as accept the travelers to their homes. While the adventures make there way over, Katahaar is getting to his boiling point almost to a blood rage. As Chewan lowers the his rage the rest of the team arrives and Jase promises that he will get his revenge.

The Scoundrels decide to split up, Aayla’Ani and Chewan head back to the ship while the rest of the rouges head down into the shadow lands. The scouting team is directed toward a large lift where they are greeted by a Wookiee Katahaar introduces as companion and guide on their trip down to the underworld.

The ancient lift descended into a frightening atmosphere of the shadow lands. Despite the dark cool atmosphere there does seem to be a subtle beauty to the place, vegetation is large and over grown lining a slightly used path leading through this under world. As the scouting crew makes their way into the forest undergrowth a dull glow that seems to sparkle irresistably, starts to seduce Jase entrancing him and pulling him into the foliage. Like a strike of thunder in the mind of Jase a powerful command rings from Tim bringing his mind back in to focus. This saves him from a vicious plant. Their Wookiee companion mentions that is was the these plants that seemed to be the other interest to the Black Suns. Feeling ever grateful to Tim, Jase and his comrades make their way further into the dwarfing forest.

Meanwhile Aayla’Ani and Chewan board the ship and begin working on a way to scan the forest to give their teammates a clue of what they are facing. Chewan, using his overwhelming mechanical skills finds that there seem to be several life forms as only one of which is large enough to be a humanoid. Upon relaying the info they find that the other half of their team has come across what looks like a path made through a denser part of the forest which seemed to be just draped in giant webs. In fact the mere mention heading that way to find the agent sent the guide back to the village. With the knowledge of something that even frightens the Wookiees both Aayla’Ani and Chewan start to gear up to head out to help their teammates.

As the ground team waits for the arrival of their compadres they decide that it would be helpful scout out the ship where Thann’s subordinate was being held to see what kind of information they can find. Tim Konopka tells Jase and Koth that he will wait at the intersection for the rest of their team as well to make sure that no one comes out of that dark and forbidding part of the forest. Jase and Koth passing a couple paths on their way down into clearing containing a what appeared to be a old republic ship and a scattering debris. As the two look over and scavenge through the area find and torpedo look device that seems to have been tampered with by their target. Jase looking over the device gets an eerie feeling that runs through his bones. Quickly deciding something is wrong he heads toward the first path that was they passed one the way to see what other info he can find as well as be out of here right a way. As he heads back he meets Chewan along the way and informs him of all they found ahead. Jase continues to scout out the area, while Chewan moves on. Rounding a bend in a skipped path Jase comes upon the remnants of the old campfire, skirting a lake in a small glade.

Jase’s caution builds Chewan’s suspicion leading him to urgency hurries him down to Koth. The little fur ball that is Koth points out the tampered tech. The tech seem to break down to it individual parts in Chewan’s mind. The puzzle of parts worked as a map to leading to the most meddle section. Chewan moves away some of the junk surrounding the tamped area revealing a dual glow like unto the radiance of an ember in a fire. The metal beings to sink like in. Fear and panic ripping though his growl “he roars to run”. He a Koth begin to run for all they are worth. after a brief moment right at the point where the mind flickers through thoughts that this is madness and probably pointless they feel the heat of the boom hitting their backs singe hair and deafening the ears. Pressure and heat fill the air as the dazed two find themselves laying on the ground but intact. Bushing themselves off and raging they run to the others to find the bastard who almost killed them.

In the aftermath of the concussive shock wave that ripped through the forest the adventures gather in front of the dark dank passage that seems to lead directly into the jaws of destruction. With a mostly unshakable resolve the crew pushes forward heading in to the web infested pit. The leads down in to a shadowy tight cove in the in foliage. The clearing is surrounded by gnarled branches of trees and shrubs covered in the white remnants of spiders. Across form the entrance they spot a dark mass hidden in a hovel in the outgrowth. Koth calmly moved forward peaceably trying sooth the huddled mass, if in fact it is the man they are hunting. Right then the figure begins to spin and hurl a rock right passed Koth head hitting harmlessly off the shoulder of the Tim, doing not much more then causing a distraction to Tim. In that moment The scoundrel runs for it jetting passed Tim and Koth. With a sigh Jase leaps at him just in time to run into the giant furry figure of Chewan. As their bodies collide the criminal slips by. So both Tim and Aayla’Ani nonchalantly
blast him with their weapons on stun, causing him to crash to the forest flow.

Soon after their target hits the ground a deep scouring almost a rumble and thick vibration falls on weary little band. Soon all remaining remnants of light fade and deeper darkness engulfs the crew. With no warning a white liquid mass hammers into Tim. The gooey substance fastens him in place and begins to burn his skin. Tim in spite of his own danger yells out to look above. As the rest of the crew looks up they see a near star ship sized spider looming over them. Koth notices the chilling look in Jase’ s eyes as he begins to lift his heavy blaster rifle, so to give any advantage to his friend he grabs a stim out of his bag and sends it’s contents into Jase’s blood. Feeling a little juiced as the meds flow in to him Jase takes aim and lets of two shots. The first passes right though the closes leg sending it hurling to the floor, while the other hits right into the abdomen, where it meets the main body, super heating the interior causing an explosion of gore drenching in itchy burning spider fluids.

In the reprieve Aayla’Ani hurry over to Tim’s side in hopes of cutting him free. She raises her new blade and swings toward the Tim’s captor, and completely misses in good effort she attempts again have the side of the blade just glancing off Tim’s leg. A frantic buzzing noise begins to drown out the sound of Aayla’Ani’s efforts. With a sigh of dismay Chewan quickly pushes Aayla’Ani out of the way taking her sword and begins to cut Tim free. As he does so the buzzing grows loader and loader make his efforts more frantic. Just a Tim is freed insects about half the size of a nexu appear in the hundreds. finding this new cause to be a desperate one the crew decides to make a run for it. Tim, Koth and Jase start heading away mean while Chewan heads over scoops up the dirty pick to started this mess and follows the others. When the others start to run Aayla’Ani wanting to make money at some point goes and grasps the giant tucks of the the huge beast whose parts now litter the ground. Slinging them over her shoulder she makes her way after the others. They all race get this goop off of them. They all head to the clearing where Jase found the campfire because he remembers that there was a lake wash this stuff off. Upon arriving they all head jump in the tiny lake. As soon as gunk is off many of the insects lose interest. It seems that it will be enough to allow them enough time to flee the Shadowlands. The team quickly retreats to the waiting lift and rides to up escaping the one coming hoard insects.

The Proposition: Part 2
Session 12

Alarms began blaring all over the Suwantek TL-1800 slave ship. Only minutes had passed since Thann Xiss departed on his ship and the group gained control of the ship. It was quickly deduced that there was a hull breach on the bottom floor of the ship. Jace and Chewan quickly ran to see if they could find the breach and seal it. Oxygen levels were already low and rapidly plummeting.

Chewan found the leak that was caused by blaster fire on the ship. With a few attempts he was able to seal the breach with a temporary hull patch. Worried that it might not hold long, he determined to spend some time sorting out repairs at the Kwenn Space Station docks.

Before they docked, the group listened to what Katahaar the Wookiee had to say. He told them that the pirates had been raiding his village on Kashyyyk almost every 35 galactic days. On these raids they had been abducting Wookiees as slaves and taking a ceremonial plant called Orga that grew in the local vicinity. On this most recent raid he and the few remaining Wookiee warriors decided to put up a fight. As soon as the slave ship landed they ambushed pirates. They captured a Sakiyan who had been on previous raids, but appeared mostly interested with the Orga plants. Katahaar and one other Wookiee took the Sakiyan to one of the lower levels of the Kashyyyk forest. When Katahaar returned to the village, the pirates had subdued and killed several of the Wookiee villagers. They threatened to kill more if Katahaar and his warriors did not give up the Sakiyan. Katahaar refused and the pirates immediatley responded by killing another Wookiee warrior. The enraged Katahaar tried to attack the pirates but was knocked unconscious. He awoke in the hull of the slave ship, where the pirates tortured and interrogated five other Wookiee warriors to death for information regarding the location of the Sakiyan. They beat him some more and when he woke again all of the you were there.

He pleaded with you to:
1) Protect the village from the next pirate raid
2) Cripple or destroy the pirates organization so they cannot continue to harm us
3) Rescue all of the previously enslaved Wookiees

He had no reward to promise them except that he and his villagers would forever be grateful to them and would help them in any way they could.

At this point the ship had docked at the Kwenn Space station. The group headed to the Tallifax Casino to hear Thann’s business proposition. Jace was not too happy to find out that no firearms were allowed in the casino. He hung back just in case things went south.

The casino appeared to be heavily guarded and Thann himself was surrounded by five Gank mercenaries. He told them this:

“I believe that you could help us become one of the greatest economic arms of the Black Sun in Hutt space. Hutt space has been notoriously hard for the Black Sun to get a strong foothold in because of the Hutt kajidics that have such a strong stranglehold on every resource. My slaving and spice operations have met some resistance from the the Hutts and others as of late which is where you would come in. Your particular skills and reputation are well suited to solidify the Black Sun’s hold in Hutt space. And, don’t worry, you would get a large share of the fortune that will soon be ours. If everything goes according to plan you could live the rest of your lives in luxury.

Smuggling slaves can be quite lucrative. Wookiees are optimal for manual labor and therefore they are highly valued. They are needed for mining glitterstim which is the primary cog in my operation. I need to you bring me a continuous supply of Wookies. As well, I need a large shipment of a plant native to specific location on Kashyyyk called Orga. While you are there I would greatly appreciate it if you recovered a dear friend of mine. He is a Sakyian named D’shar. He was captured by a stubborn group of Wookiees on our last visit to Katahaar’s village. In fact, Katahaar knows precisely where he is. He will lead you to him. "

Basically, the rewards for pulling off the operation break down like this:

  • A new ship of the equivalent value of your original ship and all of the supplies off of the old ship.
  • He knows about your debt to Kaa’to Lee’chos and can pay it off plus a handsome sum of 100,000 credit to the group.
  • Access to rarer supplies, weapons, gear at good prices.
  • Plus, your own smuggling operation which would open up more lucrative opportunities

Thann promised that if you fulfilled this contract that he would compensate you for your losses and give you a place in his growing empire. He wishes to supplant the current Black Sun Vigo of this sector putting himself at the top. He insisted that you take the Gank guards with you but you convinced him otherwise. He also arranged to have Trax meet you at your “new” ship to return most of your supplies that were on your other ship. Thann seemed a bit to permissive in granting you your wishes ….

Trex met you at your ship as planned and told you that if he ever saw you again he’d kill you. He stormed away leaving behind the cargo that belonged to you. They loaded the goods on the ship and headed to a shady ship dealer elsewhere on the Kwenn Space Station. You see, Ala’ani (not wanting to pilot a lumbering slave ship) decided to do some quick negotiating with a ship dealer for a smaller and faster ship. After some hassle the crew now found that they had another new ship to call their own: a beautiful YT-2400.

The Proposition: Part 1
Session 11

Ra’lia met the team at the Slag Pit bar on Nar Shaddaa to give them a heads up about groups of people seeking them out. She didn’t have much more to say than to watch your back. After leaving the Slag Pit bar, the group was almost immediately greeted by a smoking poison grenade. Masked assailants quickly followed with stun guns and electronets. Clearly, they wanted to take them alive. Everyone put up a great fight, but when reinforcements came all but Jace were captured and taken to the slaver’s ship. Jace followed and stealthily slipped onto the ship behind the captors.

Hours later the others came to only to find themselves stripped of all their belongings and caged like animals in the hull of a ship. Two guards stood by idly chit-chatting. The only other occupants were five dead Wookiees and one beaten and barely conscious Wookiee. Tim started shouting insults at the guards to hopefully get them to put down their defenses (or to just make them plain angry). He soon found himself taking a beating from an angry Trandoshan. In part, his plan succeeded. The Trandoshan got too close to the sultry Ala’ani and found himself restrained against a jail cell. Meanwhile, Chewan deftly picked the lock of his cell and sprung out in time to aid the collapsing Tim Kopenaka.

Jace traversed the upper decks of the Suwantek TL-1800 slave ship undetected and made his way into the engine room. The poor engineer had no idea what was coming. Jace grabbed him from behind and threatened the engineer for information. But, this was no ordinary engineer. He did not give in to threats of pain and death. Jace upped his game by stabbing the engineer in the shoulder. The engineer stood strong. Jace then began smashing the engineer’s face repeatedly into the computer dashboard until he passed out. Apparently, Jace isn’t scary enough to get any good information. He did learn that the Trandoshan slaver, Trex, was captaining this ship and that they were nearly docked with the Kwenn Space Station.

The group was now fully reunited in the cargo hold of the ship. They freed the Wookiee, Katahaar, who pleaded with them to help fight the slavers. But now was not the time for discussions … another ship was attaching it’s airlock to the slave ship. Chewan, the ever triumphant mechanic, swiftly gained control of all of the doors on the ship while the rest of the crew told Trex to get off or die. At the airlock, a mysterious man named Thann Xiss spoke to the group requesting their presence at the Tallifax Casino on the Kwenn Space Statiion. He had a job for them, one that they wouldn’t want to refuse. He quickly departed leaving the Scourges of the Galaxy with a slaver ship to call their own.

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.
